We’re an interdisciplinary computational group solving challenges of multi-omic data science in biology and medicine.

Nezar Abdennur, PhD

Nezar Abdennur, PhD

Principal Investigator

Nezar received his PhD from MIT in Leonid Mirny's group, specializing in the 3D organization of the genome and its relationship to the epigenome. His work has contributed to the discovery and understanding of the biophysical processes shaping genomes and laid foundational open source software for 3C/Hi-C analysis.

Vedat Yilmaz

Vedat Yilmaz

Project Manager

Vedat is a former experimentalist with a deep passion for genomic data science. He has played a pivotal role in the safety of first-in-class medicines for rare diseases. As project manager, Vedat provides essential resources and supports our team and our collaborators across the research project lifecycle.

Conrad Bzura

Conrad Bzura

Research Software Engineer

Conrad is a software engineer with over a decade of experience building data ETL pipelines in various industries. As a member of the Abdennur lab, he applies his expertise and contribute to open source bioinformatics and genomic analysis tools.

Thomas Reimonn

Thomas Reimonn

MD/PhD Student

Thomas is a MD/PhD candidate in the Morningside Graduate School for Biomedical Sciences at UMass Chan Medical School.

Hoang Tran

Hoang Tran

PhD Student

Hoang earned his BA in Mathematical Science and Computational Biology from Colby College and gained genomics and transcriptomics experience at the Broad Institute. He is now a PhD student in the Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at UMass Chan Medical School, co-mentored by Dr. Abdennur and Dr. Flavahan. His interests lie in epigenomics, genomics, and 3D genome organization in health and disease, tackling problems with multi-omics approaches and wet-lab validation.
